Overview

DOI SUTHEP: The main attractions of the park are; Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Doi Pui Mountain, waterfalls, viewpoints and trails. The national park is one of the best in the country for hiking thanks to its “endless” trails throughout the park from all directions and elevations. Cycling is also very popular.

The mountains in the park are within the Thanon Thong Chai Range, most of its bedrock is granite. Two of the highest peaks in the park are Doi Pui which is the highest in the park at 1,685 meters asl and Doi Buak Ha.

What To Expect

Itinerary:
Pick up: 08.00 - 08.30 a.m. Return 12.00 - 12.30 p.m.
Drive up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep (A.D. 1384). The most celebrated temple in Chiangmai. Containing a holy relic of Lord Buddha with challenging flight of over 306 steps, flanked by enormous Mythological Naga. A panoramic view of the city can seen from here at 1,053 above sea level. Then visit Phuping Palace, it was built in 1961 to accommodate the royal family during state visits to Chiang Mai. The rose gardens are particularly famous, with temperate plants grown here that are not commonly found in Thailand.
There are 306 steps to get to the temple, built in the 16th century. The old tradition way to reach the temple is by climbing the staircase. Even though there is a funicular tram that carries passengers up the top, people still use this staircase in order to get up and down because most people believe that doing this brings good luck.

Doi Pui Mong Hill Tribe Village

Doi Pui is the residence of the Hmong (Miao) hill tribe village, located 4 kilometers from Phuping Ratchaniwet Palace in the area of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park Chiang Mai The location of Doi Pui is in the line of Thanon Thongchai Mountain Range. Height from sea level 1,658 meters. The terrain of Doi Pui is full of big trees and pine forests. and the winter flowers that the hill tribes planted If coming in late December to early January, Nang Phaya Sua Krong flowers will bloom beautiful pink. On Doi Pui, the weather is cold and humid almost all year round. The way up to Doi Pui is a paved, winding road, narrow enough for cars to cross each other. and some slopes.
